Producing a Narrative Podcast
Producing a Narrative Podcast from info@pipelineartists.com on Vimeo.
Producing a narrative podcast series can feel a lot like producing a film. There’s the script writing, casting, production, editing, and scoring, plus the confusing world of distribution and grassroots marketing. The key difference: a narrative podcast relies heavily on imagination and visual storytelling.
Jessica Hobbs produced an episodic series of narrative podcasts based on her 2023 book of short stories, The Witch and Other Tales of the American Gothic. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basic steps for crafting an effective audio drama and tips on how to elevate your own voice in the process.
This presentation will cover:
- How to refine your concept
- Focusing on visual storytelling
- The process of recording, casting, and editing
- Music composition for podcasts
- Marketing with no connections or budget
- Q&A
[Recorded April 30, 2024]
